Experience, Creativity and a Practical Eye for Interiors
I’m Michaela Kalde, the decorator behind Hervey Bay Interiors. My experience spans premium textiles, residential decorating and a broad range of interior projects involving colour, furnishings, room planning and presentation.
I bring together colour, fabrics, furniture, lighting, layout and finishing details to create rooms that feel coordinated, comfortable and genuinely suited to the people living in them.
An Interior Background Built Through Real Projects
My decorating experience has involved much more than selecting cushions or arranging accessories. Over the years I have worked across residential, showroom and project-based interiors, contributing to colour schemes, furniture selections, room planning, soft furnishings and final presentation.
This practical background has taught me how to see the whole room: its proportions, movement, natural light, furniture placement, colour balance, function and the smaller details that bring everything together.
A successful interior should look beautiful, but it should also function properly, feel comfortable and reflect the people who live there.
Experience Across Residential, Showroom and Project Interiors
My background has included a varied mix of decorating, textile and project work. This has given me practical experience in how an interior comes together, from the first ideas and measurements through to the final selections and presentation.
Working across different types of spaces has strengthened my ability to balance appearance, comfort, function and budget. It has also taught me how to communicate ideas clearly and keep many individual selections working toward one cohesive result.

Personalised Home Decorating

Decorating Should Feel Helpful, Not Intimidating
You do not need a huge renovation budget or an entirely new home to create a noticeable difference.
Sometimes a room needs a clearer layout, a more consistent colour direction, better lighting or help selecting the final pieces. Often, many of the right elements are already there and simply need to be brought together differently.
