The client's brief was to create a guest bedroom that felt sophisticated and inviting while still reflecting the relaxed feel of living by the bay.
Rather than creating an obviously themed beach bedroom, the coastal influence was introduced through natural texture, layered neutrals, subtle stripes and carefully chosen finishing details.
Coastal, Comfortable and Sophisticated
The aim was to turn an ordinary spare room into a beautiful guest bedroom that felt comfortable, considered and welcoming.
Coastal decorating doesn't have to mean filling a room with shells, anchors or obvious blue-and-white accessories. In this room the coastal feeling comes from texture, relaxed fabrics, natural colours and a small number of carefully selected details.
The finished bedroom now feels calm and inviting, while the darker textured wall gives the space the sophistication the client was looking for.

A completely different approach to the furniture, colour, texture and styling changed both the appearance and the atmosphere of the room.
The transformation wasn't about filling the room with more. It was about choosing the right scale, simplifying the colour palette and creating a stronger focal point.
