A Fresh New Chapter

Downsizing Doesn’t Mean Giving Up Your Style

A smaller home doesn’t have to feel cramped or compromised. With thoughtful furniture placement, colour, lighting, window furnishings and accessories, even a compact space can feel light, spacious and beautifully put together.

I can help you bring together the furniture and treasured pieces you already own, while suggesting new additions only where they will make a genuine difference.

The result is a home that feels fresh and considered — while still feeling completely like your home.

Make a Smaller Home Feel Beautifully Spacious

The key to decorating a smaller home is choosing pieces that suit the proportions of the room and creating a natural sense of flow.

For many of my clients, this stage of life is about making things simpler, easier and more enjoyable. Your interiors can reflect that too.

  • Comfortable furniture that fits the room properly
  • Light, cohesive colour schemes
  • Natural textures and relaxed coastal touches
  • Thoughtful storage and less visual clutter
  • Soft furnishings that add colour and personality
  • Rooms that are attractive but easy to live in

Personal & Practical

Your New Home Should Still Feel Like You

Downsizing often means saying goodbye to a home you’ve lived in for many years. That doesn’t mean saying goodbye to everything you love.

I particularly enjoy helping clients incorporate favourite furniture, artwork, family pieces and treasured belongings into their new surroundings.

Sometimes all that’s needed is a different furniture arrangement, a new colour palette or a few carefully selected additions to bring everything together.

My approach is relaxed, friendly and practical. There’s no pressure to replace everything or completely redesign your home.

Perfect For

Moving Into Over-50’s Lifestyle Living?

I can help before or after you move, whether you’re settling into a lifestyle community, villa, unit, apartment or a smaller low-maintenance home.

A little planning before you move can help you avoid costly furniture mistakes and make settling into your new home so much easier.

Before You Buy

Make Confident Decisions for Your New Space

When you’re moving from a larger house into a smaller home, furniture scale becomes especially important.

I can help you look at your floorplan and work through questions such as:

  • Will my existing sofa fit?
  • What size dining table would work best?
  • Where should artwork and favourite pieces go?
  • Do I need a smaller occasional chair or coffee table?
  • Which colours will help the rooms feel larger?
  • What should I buy now and what can wait?

Having a clear plan can help you spend your decorating budget on the pieces that will make the greatest difference.

Floor plans and furniture dimensions are used for decorating guidance only. Final measurements must always be checked by you, the retailer, installer or relevant trade before furniture, cabinetry or window furnishings are ordered.

Exactly What to Expect

A Simple Three-Step Consultation

I want this service to be easy to understand. There are no hidden stages and no expectation that you continue beyond the consultation.

01

Before the Visit

You send photographs, your main questions and, if you are moving, a floor plan of the new home if you have one. I review these before we meet.

02

During the Visit

We spend up to 2 hours working through the agreed priorities, including furniture fit, layout, what to keep, what may need replacing and the most useful decorating decisions for the new space.

03

After the Visit

I send you a brief written summary and action checklist. You can then make purchases and arrange any suppliers or trades yourself. Further help is optional and charged separately.

A Clear Fixed Service

Downsizing & New Home Planning Consultation

This is a fixed-price consultation for people who are downsizing, moving into a smaller home or lifestyle community, or deciding what will work best in a new space.

Before the visit, I review the photographs, floor plan and key questions you provide. During the consultation, we work through the agreed priorities together so you leave with a practical plan rather than a long list of ideas.

The purpose is to help you make confident decisions about what to keep, what may fit, how furniture could be positioned and which purchases can wait.

Fixed Consultation
$395

  • One in-home consultation of up to 2 hours
  • Advice on what existing furniture is worth keeping

  • General colour, lighting and window-furnishing direction
  • Practical priorities for what to buy now and what can wait
  • Brief written summary and action checklist after the visit
  • Standard travel within Hervey Bay included

Please note: This consultation does not include a full whole-home decorating plan, detailed product sourcing or shopping lists, 3D renders, technical floor plans, sample ordering, purchasing, delivery coordination, moving services, supplier or trade management, or installation. Optional follow-up support is available at $125 per hour when agreed in advance.

At Your Own Pace

You Don’t Have to Do Everything at Once

You may simply want help getting one living area right, deciding which furniture to take, or checking the size of a new sofa, dining setting or window furnishing before you buy.

There is no pressure to redesign everything, and the $395 consultation does not commit you to any further service.

If you later want help with additional rooms, detailed sourcing or implementation, that work is quoted separately or provided as approved follow-up support at $125 per hour.
